In the summer of 2022, she appeared as Pa and Bergsblomman in Reine Jönsson and Patrik Sörling's opera Tre Knivar from Wei and in 2023 she debuted at the Royal Opera in Stockholm as the Page in Strauss's opera Salome. She often sings in oratorios and other church works. Julia has received a number of fine prizes and scholarships, Barbro Salén's and the Royal Academy of Music's youth scholarship.
This year's Opera scholarship from Barbro Salén's Foundation is aimed at students at Stockholm University of the Arts to provide the opportunity for continued special studies abroad. The scholarship, which is worth SEK 200,000, was awarded to the soprano Julia Gunvor Lindgren.
The awarding of the scholarship took place at the performance of Tosca on 25 April at the Royal Opera House.
The scholarship board's justification:
"Julia possesses a dense, very beautiful lyrical soprano with confident technique that promises a lot for the future. The jury would especially like to praise her heartfelt interpretation of Mimi's aria from Puccini's opera La Boheme. Julia not only sings, but portrays the role with heavenly pianissimo on the high notes".
