During the last decade Cecilia Martin-Löf has completed her bachelor and masters of orchestra conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. During those years she has worked with orchestras such as Dalasinfoniettan, Folkoperan, Västerås Sinfonietta, Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker, Norrbotten Neo, Orchestra of Norrlandsoperan, Gävle Symphony, Norrköping Symphony orchestra, Helsingborg Symphony, Royal Army Band, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Marinens Musikkår. She has also had longer assisting engagements at Norrlandsoperan and the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
Engagements have followed returning to among others Jönköping Sinfonietta, Folkoperan, Marinens Musikkår, Gävle Symphony and Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker.
Upcoming engagements 2024-2025 are for example with Esbjerg Ensemble in Denmark, Dalasinfoniettan Falun, Nordic Chamber Orchestra Sundsvall and with the German National Youth Choir and Swedish Radio Choir.
Cecilia Martin-Löf is also since many years an established and highly esteemed choral conductor on the scandinavian musical scene. As such she has worked with the radio choirs in Stockholm and Copenhague, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and numerous renowned Chamber choirs within Sweden and abroad. In the period 2011-2013 she was the chief conductor of DR Pigekoret, Danish Radio girls choir with whom she toured in Denmark and premiered many new commissioned works, for example Ib Nörholms "Inspirationen" together with DR Underholdningsorkestret, the chamber orchestra of Danish Radio in Copenhague.
Since 2007 Cecilia holds a position as Director Cantorum at Lund University, with the artistic leadership of Lund University Academic Choir and the Palaestra Vocal Ensemble. Her inspiring leadership, extraordinary feeling for the text and the timing, love of literature and technical precision at the highest level has made her a sought after leader, teacher, guest conductor and workshop holder in Sweden and abroad. With her choirs she has toured in many parts of Europe, as well as the US and South Africa and thus won recognition and further invitations. Apart from the conducting Cecilia has a great interest in swedish folk music, she has worked at swedish radio as speaker, studied latin and linguistics and is a passionate long distance skater! Fluent in German, English, Swedish and Danish. More basic knowledge of French and Italian.
